Howard Hughes  was born and lived the first 17 years of his life in Lewistown, Montana.  As a youngster he spent hours alone outdoors, exploring the prairie and hills around the small town and fishing Spring Creek, which originates at a natural spring just outside the town and supplies its water to this day.  The early and indelible impressions etched in his memory are reflected in many of his watercolor paintings; he states, “That which an artist has lived, eaten, and breathed–has become a part of him–is what he paints, at least in my case.”

    Mr. Hughes has worked as a licensed clinical social worker, in various capacities, for over 25 years.  His paintings hang in diverse locations, including the Washington Trust Financial Center; Temple Beth Shalom Library, and Twenty-Ninth Avenue Art Works, Spokane, Washington, in addition to numerous private residences throughout Arizona, California, Oregon, Washington, and Montana.

 The Photographic Prints that are available on this site are of the highest quality.  From the 8x10 up to the 16x20, these reproductions are very beautiful and detailed.  They are a warm addition to any wall.
